COURSE DATE

Kindly select a Final Practical Date for your booking. This Final Practical session will take place subsequent to your completion of the theory correspondence work, encompassing the boxed kit consisting of workbooks and study materials. The selected date can be modified once within the initial 10-day period after booking without incurring any charges. Following this timeframe, any changes made will be subject to a date change fee. NOTE:
The required book, the Australian Boating Manual by Dick Gandy can be purchased as a Hard Copy (HC) or as a Digital Copy (DC) eBook. You can also purchase both. The eBook is best as it can be searched quickly. It can be loaded into 1 computer or tablet only where it then becomes locked.

Flip cards or apps to study: Buoyage system, Sound and Light Signals, Rules of the road, Lights and Shapes
These can be studied by various methods. How you choose to study these is up to you - but you MUST know them all. You will be tested in the Dept of Transport as they will do a Final Assessment, and these will play a large part.

If for any reason the course is cancelled by Perth Boat School after your enrolment, a full refund of fees will be made. VET Data Use Statement
Under the Data Provision Requirements 2012 and National VET Data Policy (which includes the National VET Provider Collection Data Requirements Policy), Registered Training organizations are required to collect and submit data compliant with AVETMISS for the National VET Provider Collection for all Nationally Recognised Training. This data is held by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER), and may be used and disclosed for the following purposes:
  • populate authenticated VET transcripts;
  • facilitate statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage;
  • pre-populate RTO student enrolment forms;
  • understand how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information; and
  • administer VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation.
You may receive a student survey which may be administered by a government department or NCVER employee, agent or third party contractor or other authorised agencies. Please note you may opt out of the survey at the time of being contacted.
